Nutella Puppy Chow
August 12, 2024
The other day we were thinking about Puppy Chow because, let’s face it, we think about that sweet, classic snack at least twice a week. We think: “Watching the Vikings would be so much more fun if we had a big bowl of Puppy Chow right now.” Or we think: “It’s 3:30 p.m. and finishing the workday would be SO much more doable if we had a giant handful of Puppy Chow.”
But then we remember that we don’t have any Puppy Chow, and if we got up and made some it would need to chill in the fridge and then the game would be over, the workday already gone. So we stay glued to the sofa or office chair, hand on our brow, wallowing in self-pity. If only there was some way around this intractable problem?!
Hark! We’ve solved the Puppy Chow dilemma. You know the saying, “Necessity is the mother of invention”? Replace “necessity” with “impatience and an obsession with Nutella” and you have the story behind Nutella Puppy Chow, our answer to wanting Puppy Chow right this very second but not having any on hand.
We used Puffins Peanut Butter Cereal for that essential peanut-butter flavor and some extra crunch; powdered sugar to create a light, magical coating (in our book, it’s the sweet dusting of powdered sugar that makes Puppy Chow real Puppy Chow); and Nutella for a rich, nutty, unexpected sweetness. Plus, it’s Nutella! Honestly, we can’t believe we didn’t think of using it for Puppy Chow sooner.
Don’t waste another minute. It’s time to enjoy the incredibly fast, insanely satisfying snack you’ve been craving. Oh, and your family will love it.
