L&B Cherry Chicken Pasta Salad

This year we are celebrating the 25th anniversary of our famous L&B Cherry Chicken Pasta Salad!

L&B Cherry Chicken Pasta Salad was developed by Tim Tesch, Culinary Development Manager, back in 2000. At that time, grapes and almonds were common ingredients in a classic chicken salad recipe, but Tim set out to do something different. He created a versatile, refreshing dish with the perfect balance of sweet, savory and nutty with great texture from the large walnuts, gemelli pasta and whole dried cherries. He also created his own version of a classic poppy seed dressing to add a touch of tartness.

This salad was originally launched as a test at our Edina store and quickly became a huge hit. By late 2000 production of this salad has shifted from in stores to our production facility to meet the demand for this fan-favorite!

Since 2000, Tim Tesch has created several Cherry Chicken spin-offs, including a “not pasta” version for those seeking a lower-carb offering. He also introduced a cherry chicken wrap in our grab-and-go section and we now bottle his original poppy seed dressing recipe and sell it in the produce department.
