The Good Acre
July 25, 2024
The Good Acre is the largest nonprofit food hub in Minnesota, dedicated to empowering farmers and food entrepreneurs to achieve economic prosperity. They opened their doors in 2015 with a mission to “connect and strengthen farmers, food makers and communities through good food.”
The Good Acre was the brainchild of three women in the Pohland family – Lindsay, Allie and Sara. There goal was to create a venue that would assist in the development of a sustainable food system for the Twin Cities region by working with retailers, employers, schools and local, independent farmers to provide training and good food to the community. Collaboration is at the heart of what they do – working with their partners to build an equitable food system that centers and amplifies BIPOC voices.
Their state-of-the-art building, located on Larpenteur Avenue in Falcon Heights, offers a commercial kitchen for local food makers to rent and an impressive certified organic and food safe warehouse, where local farmers can deliver, wash, aggregate and pack their produce for delivery.
In addition to their facilities, The Good Acre provides grower education by way of food safety training, grant application support, marketing and logistics support, production planning and so much more.
This year we are excited to partner with The Good Acre and their network of local farmers to bring you some of the freshest locally grown produce possible! As you browse our produce department, you’ll find signs identifying produce from The Good Acre. Thank you for joining us in supporting local emerging farmers!
