Meet Mara Rincon — Manufacturing Operations Manager

What does your job entail?
I work at our Mitchell Road production facility and assist with hiring, training and mentoring our team. I also identify areas for improvement and work with our team to implement new ideas and our team’s career development. A big part of my job is internal hospitality!

How long have you been with the company?
I have worked here for eight years.

What other roles have you held at L&B?
Over the past 8 years at L&B, I have been a Process Operator, a Production Lead and part of the Operations Supervisor team at Mitchell Road.

What do you love most about your job?
I love working with new hires! It’s so satisfying to see people join our team, develop their skills and advance their careers, which ultimately makes our company better. We have the opportunity to help others grow their careers.

Have you used any of the training, development or benefits options from L&B?
I completed the Leadership Readiness Program (LRP) in 2021 and served on our DEI committee in 2022. I am now serving on our L&B Cares Committee, which oversees part of the LRP program in 2021 and DEI in 2022, and now I’m on the L&B Cares team, which is our hospitality committee.

What or who inspired you to pursue the career you have?
Tim Tesch, L&B Executive Chef, and Amy Carter, retired L&B Executive Chef, have inspired me. They recognized my potential, encouraged me to apply for LRP, and have guided me to pursue additional opportunities like succession planning development. They continue to inspire me to find ways to contribute to the company’s success.

Which accomplishments are you most proud of during your time at L&B?
I’m proud to work for a company that provides numerous resources for everyone regardless of ethnic, gender or religion.

What is your favorite part about working at L&B?
I feel supported in my role and when challenges arise, I am given resources and tools to accomplish my goals.

What is your favorite L&B product?
I love our L&B Carrot Cake with Cream Cheese Frosting because it tastes like the cake my grandma used to make for me when I was little. It always brings back the most beautiful memories!
