Ingredients

  • ¾
cup (1 ½ sticks) unsalted butter
  • 2
    cups old-fashioned rolled oats
  • ¾
    cup all-purpose flour
  • ¾
    cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1 ½
    teaspoons L&B Apple Pie Spice
  • 1
    teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½
    teaspoon kosher salt
  • Vanilla ice cream or Greek yogurt, optional for serving

Directions

  1. 1

Heat the oven to 325 F. Line a 9×13-inch sheet pan with parchment paper.

  2. 2

Place a small saucepan over medium heat and melt the butter. Continue cooking for 5 to 6 minutes, swirling occasionally, until the butter has foamed, settled and is golden brown and smells nutty. Remove from the heat and pour into a separate bowl to ensure the butter doesn’t burn.

  3. 3

In a medium bowl, combine the oats, flour, brown sugar, L&B Apple Pie Spice, vanilla and salt. Add in the browned butter and stir until evenly combined. Let sit for 5 minutes.

  4. 4

Transfer the mixture to the prepared pan and spread into an even layer, lightly pressing it together.

  5. 5

Bake for 25 to 35 minutes, rotating halfway through, until deeply golden and crisp. Let cool completely on the pan, about 10 to 15 minutes, before breaking into pieces. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 week.
